TIMBER

When talking about timber and its characteristics, first its use should be specified. Timber for structural components must meet other requirements than for non-structural or parts which are later invisible.

structural timber must posess the following specifications to be considered by us:

rich color, regular grain
high density and stability in service
natural resistance to termites
high fire-resistance
stronger than Teak

These preconditions are fully met by Merbau, a tropical hardwood.

All logs are from firsthand registered traders. The milling operations are supervised by the workshops to get a satisfying ratio between product quality and sawn timber recovery rate.

The Timber Material is supplied in Grade A with a clean smooth grain, and no heartwood or sapwood. After planning, finely sanded S4S Components are protected with an Alkyd Resin Based Lasure. As with Merbau and other premium Indonesian species (i.e Bangkirai), we process only high quality materials sourced from renowned suppliers.

Bangkirai and Meranti are the two other hardwood species we use for non-structural timber. Their characteristics are similar to those of Merbau.

Other materials include: Plywood (panels), Pinewood (roof battens, decking strucutures) and hardware.

HIGH-PRECISION WOOD-WORKING

We operate as one of the few carpentry workshops all over South-East Asia fully equipped with MAFELL® Germany-Made portable tools.

We are planning to open a new computerized production unit equipped with Hundegger® Machines, a high-performance Automated Joinery Machine combining Industrial Productivity and High Precision.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

We have builit many prefab buildings in cyclonic areas (Caribbean Islands, Hawaii, Tahiti, New Caledonia…) where construction requires wind resistance up to 300 kph.
